Georgia O'Keefe and Vincent Van Gogh

I looked up all the artists we thought of in class and chose two whose art i liked the most. The first one i chose was Georgia O'Keefe. I have seen her work throughout the years and in my other art classes but i didnt know who she was till now. O'Keefe was born in Wisconsin in 1887 and attended many art schools such as the Art Institute of Chicago in 1905 and the Art League of New York along with some others. In 1985 she received a Metal of the arts award from President Ronald Reagan. O'Keefe died at the age of 98 in 1986 just a year after her award. some of her famous pieces that stood out to me are:

 Light Iris
Series 1-From the Plains

The other artist I chose was Vincent Van Gogh because his style in painting seems to be mostly formed in patterns which is unique for a lot of artists. Van Gogh was born on March 30th 1853 and throughout the 10 years of his art career, produced 900 paintings and 1100 drawings.During his life he had many jobs but was not successful when it came to his art. 11 years after he passed, his art was displayed in Paris as a showing of 71 Van Gogh paintings on Marth 17th, 1901. Van Gohg ended up committing suicide on July 29th 1890 because of a mental illness possibly bi polar disorder. The two works i chose by him are:
Starry Night
Cypress Starr
